Present to Perfekt

Read a German sentence in the present tense and type it in the past tense. Most verbs take the Perfekt (haben or sein + Partizip II); sein, haben and the modal verbs take the Präteritum, as they do in everyday German. After each answer you see the correct sentence and the rule behind it.
